Maximum Depth of Binary Tree

Given a binary tree, find its maximum depth.
The maximum depth is the number of nodes along the longest path from the root node down to the farthest leaf node.

Solution:
Basic tree traverse question. We can pre-order traverse or level by level traverse.

/**
 * Definition for binary tree
 * public class TreeNode {
 *     int val;
 *     TreeNode left;
 *     TreeNode right;
 *     TreeNode(int x) { val = x; }
 * }
 */
public class Solution {
    public int maxDepth(TreeNode root) {
        if(root == null) return 0;
        else return Math.max(maxDepth(root.left), maxDepth(root.right)) + 1;
    }
}
